About my CSS Zen Garden Entries
Some of these designs are my entries for the CSS Zen Garden project. One has been accepted in the ‘Themes and Look-a-likes’ category, the other in ‘minimal’.
So what is this CSS Zen Garden about? It’s a site by Dave Shea (from the design journal mezzoblue.com) that asks designers to take the CSS Zen Garden page and completely redesign it. Seems easy, doesn’t it? But there’s a catch: Not only does the text have to remain intact, the whole mark-up (the html) mustn’t be touched either. The one thing designers are allowed to change is the CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) file and the images linked to it.
And, to paraphrase Dave’s words:
CSS Zen Garden [is] a demonstration of what can be accomplished visually through CSS-based design. [..] There is clearly a need for CSS to be taken seriously by graphic artists. The Zen Garden aims to excite, inspire, and encourage participation.
I hope you enjoy my portfolio.
